Biography
Shao Yunhuan (1951–1999) was a Chinese journalist serving as the Xinhua News Agency correspondent in Belgrade. She was killed on 8 May 1999 (Beijing time) in the NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia, aged 47 — the oldest of the three journalists who died. Shao had been based in Yugoslavia for an extended period, reporting on the Kosovo War and the NATO bombing campaign against Yugoslavia; her death prompted widespread mourning in China.
