Biography

Xu Xinghu (1968–1999) was a Chinese journalist serving as the Guangming Daily correspondent in Belgrade. He was killed on 8 May 1999 (Beijing time) in the NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia, aged 31, alongside his wife Zhu Ying. Xu and Zhu were both war correspondents posted to Belgrade by Guangming Daily; their deaths together became one of the most widely mourned personal tragedies associated with the incident.
