Biography
Luo Gan (born 1935) is a senior CCP official who served as State Councillor (1998–2003) and Secretary of the Central Political-Legal Commission (2002–2007). At the launch of the Falun Gong suppression campaign in 1999, he coordinated the operational deployment of the campaign in his capacity as State Councillor with responsibilities over the political-legal system. He continued to oversee the sustained prohibition of Falun Gong during his subsequent tenure as Secretary of the Central Political-Legal Commission. He retired from the Politburo Standing Committee in 2007.
